The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko met with a handful of Auckland developers in the trenches, with lunch alongside UDINZ.
Today the regulator came out to see developers in their natural habitat, dealing with their local electrical infrastructure environment.
We spent the day visiting a handful of small infill developers across Auckland, on real sites, in the trenches, with an interlude (food and coffee) with Adrienne L. Miller from the Urban Development Institute of New Zealand.
A proper field day, in every sense.
This is the part of being a developer I love. It takes me back to growing up down south, where the farming community just got on and helped each other. It didn’t matter that you were competitors. You worked together, you shared in each other’s wins, and you pulled together when things got tough.
Auckland development can feel like that too. Today was one of them.
Thank you to the EA team for coming out and experiencing our world.
A heartfelt thanks to my peers who made time available, to your teams that also came out to chat, and to UDINZ for supporting us.
We are all seeking a new way forwards, and we do it when we walk in each other’s shoes, even if it is only for six hours, and try to make things better for all.
